Redesigning the Gibbs Tuff Store
I recently wrapped up a redesign for Gibbs Tuff, a retailer of Gibbs Brand Lubricant. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a product with a devoted following: it eliminates corrosion, waterproofs, and lubricates just about any mechanical hardware.
The project covered the whole site, including a redesign of the store and the shopping cart system. E-commerce work is a good reminder that design is never just about how things look. Every decision between the product page and the confirmation screen either helps someone finish their purchase or gives them a reason to leave.
Working with a small business is also a different kind of collaboration than working inside a larger company. The feedback loop is short, the priorities are practical, and you can feel the impact of the work quickly.
